Hillary Clinton’s ‘Southern Wall’ Just Crumbled

Hillary Clinton’s 20+ point lead over Bernie Sanders in Nevada just evaporated.

In a new poll released by TargetPoint Consulting, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are in a dead heat, with both pulling 45% of the vote in the next state in the Democratic nomination process.

This is the first poll conducted in the state since December, which matched national trends in finding Clinton defeating Sanders by an average of 20 points. In that time, Sanders has made huge gains in his publicity, virtually tieing the former Secretary of State in Iowa, and roundly defeating her in New Hampshire by a margin of 22.4%.

The poll used a sample size of 1,236, which is a large number of respondents for a poll of this kind, resulting in a very reliable margin of error of only 2.9 percentage points.

Furthermore, this poll was conducted February 8-10, before last night’s debate, which found Bernie Sanders the clear victor, according to a Nevada focus group that favored the Vermont senator over Clinton 25-9 despite being evenly split prior to the debate.
