The polls have closed, and
it's safe to say: progressives are making history.
Last night's victories belong
to you. Our Revolution members and local groups have spent the past year
revolutionizing their neighborhoods by organizing around the policies that will
make a material difference in our lives.
That organizing helped to save
unions in Missouri by defeating Right to Work. Eleven Our Revolution
candidates won primaries and are ready to take public office in November to
champion the cause of racial, social, economic, and environmental justice.
Last night's victories are
just the start. It's not just Rashida Tlaib and James Thompson. Adrian
Plank, Curtis Wylde, Michela Skelton, George Hanna, Jessa Lewis, Erin Frasier,
Victor Minjares, and Mark Bignell also won, ensuring our progressive platform
is represented in races for state house, state senate, and county prosecutor.
But we need to keep fighting through November.
From young people, those
paying off their debt, to workers making less than $15 an hour and living
without health insurance, we are proving that our collective power will
outweigh the influence of major campaign donors in elections.
Last night provides us with
even more proof that the political revolution is growing. Our Revolution is
about bringing every person who has been left out into the political process.
You are a part of making
history last night. Let's keep working for more nights like these and together
we will build a movement to transform this country.
