Socialist Appeal links

Welcome to the latest Socialist Appeal weekly bulletin, with the highlights of this week's news and analysis from www.socialist.net.

The murder of George Floyd in the USA and the protests against police violence seen in America and internationally have shone a light on the racism that is systemic within capitalism.

The UK is not innocent. Britain has its own deeply racist history. BAME communities have suffered disproportionately during the COVID-19 pandemic. And we are now ruled over by a thoroughly racist Tory government.

But the problem isn't just in the USA or UK. The whole capitalist system is racist, built upon exploitation and oppression. As Malcolm X profoundly noted: You cannot have capitalism without racism.

This is why we need to build a strong Marxist tendency - to organise workers and youth around a clear revolutionary alternative. We therefore urge all our readers to join us today in the fight for socialism.

‍The latest issue of the paper (no. 329) is out now, with articles on: the Black Lives Matter movement; racism in Britain; COVID-19 and the impact on women; and much much more.
