J.J. Cale believed that the song "They Call Me the Breeze" was his 'masterpiece.' 

But J.J. Cale was WRONG about his own best song. 

Yes, "They Call Me the Breeze" was more popular, but this song--"Magnolia"--is much better, musically.

"Magnolia" has been covered by numerous artists, including Poco, Pat Travers, Beck, Lucinda Williams, Iron & Wine, José Feliciano, Ben Bridwell, John Mayer with Eric Clapton, Joan Shelley, and Sadie Johnson.
