The Problem We’re Facing
Doctors, nurses, and other medical workers across the U.S. and Puerto Rico are being forced to ration N95 masks or turn to inadequate bandanas, paper, and cloth masks — leaving them vulnerable to infection as they interact with COVID-19 patients. Health care workers fighting to save others’ lives are now losing their own.
Bus drivers, grocery clerks, delivery people, and other essential workers making life sustainable for everyone else are often not being provided N95 masks at all. Without proper protective gear, workers forced to choose between their safety and their income are dying.
HOW WE'RE WORKING TO SOLVE IT
There’s no time to waste. We have found and partnered with a manufacturer selling FDA-certified, CDC-approved KN95 masks (Asia’s version of the N95) at only $2/mask — a fraction of what hospitals and governments have been paying for N95 masks.
Within two weeks of our launch, we’d funded, received, and delivered 19,000 masks. Within a month, we’ll have distributed nearly 100,000 masks across five states. We are run entirely by volunteers, and with no red tape or overhead, we’re able to be extremely efficient at turning money into masks.
Every dollar donated goes directly to mailing masks to health care facilities who request them, and every person involved (even the broker) is volunteering their time. For only $2, you can provide a safe mask to a frontline worker!
