MA: vote for Alex Morse tomorrow

I’m Sam Dreyfus, Sunrise Movement’s regional organizer for Massachusetts, the trainings coordinator for the Northeast, and a proud member of the Boston hub. If your time is short, here’s my ask: Please help us launch the Decade of the Green New Deal next year by getting out the vote for Alex Morse tomorrow.

What happens tomorrow could change everything. Richard Neal is the only Massachusetts federal representative that hasn’t endorsed the Green New Deal. That isn’t a surprise—he takes tons of money from fossil fuel corporate donors, so his priority is obviously not the people. As chair of the Ways and Means committee, he has a big say in what gets funded and what doesn’t. With Neal out of Congress, one of our biggest obstacles to winning a Green New Deal would be removed.

Removing Neal from office would be an epic victory in the fight for a Green New Deal. Tomorrow, we need to make sure thousands of people cast their votes for Alex Morse—a people’s champion who is dedicated to fighting for a Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and so much more.

Sunrise leaders all over Massachusetts and the country have been fighting for this win for months. If you’ve been waiting for a good opportunity to get involved, this is it. Person-to-person conversations are the most effective way to win over minds and hearts. So often, once people know there’s a better option, they’re so excited to support Alex.

I'll never forget making calls for Jamaal Bowman on the day of his primary—I spoke to a woman who thought she wasn't allowed to vote because she didn't have a driver's license, and when I told her that there was no such requirement, she said, “Well then, I'm going to go vote right now!”
