How To Plunder Billions In A Pandemic

Black Lives Matter Everywhere: Its Time to Defund the US Military

MintPress News | Medea Benjamin, Nicolas Davies

On June 1, President Trump threatened to deploy active-duty U.S. military forces against peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters in cities across America. Trump and state governors eventually deployed at least 17,000 National Guard troops across the country. FBI launches open attack on ‘foreign’ alternative media outlets challenging US foreign policy

The Grayzone | Gareth Porter

The FBI has publicly justified its suppression of dissenting online views about US foreign policy if a media outlet can be somehow linked to one of its adversaries. The Bureau’s justification followed a series of instances in which Silicon Valley social media platforms banned accounts following consultations with the FBI.

In a particularly notable case in 2018, the FBI encouraged Facebook, Instagram and Google to remove or restrict ads on the American Herald Tribune (AHT), an online journal that published critical opinion articles on US policy toward Iran and the Middle East. The bureau has never offered a clear rationale, however, despite its private discussions with Facebook on the ban.

Save the Insects, Save the Farmers, Save Ourselves: New Global Report Calls for End of Industrial Agriculture

The publication, entitled Insect Atlas, comes from two progressive networks: Brussels-based Friends of the Earth and Berlin-based Heinrich Böll Foundation.

The report points to various studies documenting that loss, including 2018 research finding 41% of insect species are in decline and that one-third of all insect species are threatened by extinction. The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) estimated that 10 percent of insect species are endangered, and another study cited in the new analysis found that at least one in 10 bee and butterfly species in Europe is threatened with extinction.

While there's no definitive count of the global loss of insects, Insect Atlas says the trend is unmistakable.

Shocker: United States regime propaganda outlets censor Black Lives Matter protests

Immigrants as a Weapon | Yasha Levine

Looks like our main regime propaganda outlet — Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty — is censoring and downplaying the orgy of police violence that’s being unleashed against people protesting killer cops and the murder of George Floyd.

Here’s the front page of the RFE/RL English-language portal from yesterday, Friday June 5, 2020. (Thanks to Bryan MacDonald for catching it.)

Notice anything missing?

Now compare it to other state-funded media.
